Volunteers

Alamo Area Hospice is looking for compassionate Volunteers to join our mission of bringing comfort and dignity to patients and their families. Volunteers play an essential role in providing presence, companionship, and encouragement to those navigating the end-of-life journey.

Responsibilities:

• Provide spiritual care and support according to each patient’s beliefs and values.
• Offer companionship through visits, conversation, reading, or simply being present.
• Support families with encouragement, respite, and a listening ear.
• Work alongside the hospice care team to help meet patient and family needs.

Qualifications:

• Compassionate heart and desire to serve others.
• Respectful of diverse spiritual beliefs and cultural backgrounds.
• Reliable and willing to commit time regularly.
• Training will be provided—no prior hospice experience required.
